Santel Wireless Requirements
Santel's Wireless Internet Connection requires the following:
Network Interface Card (NIC)
You'll need to have a 10 Base T Ethernet NIC installed in your computer and configured properly. This is not included in the Santel Wireless installation fee, and if you order a new computer, be sure it's included.Or:
- Purchase a NIC and install it yourself.
- Have a Santel Wireless technician install one while at your home. The cost is $35.00, which includes the price of the NIC.
- Take your computer to a local computer store to have a card installed and configured for you.
PC System Requirements:
- Windows XP (Home or Professional) or Windows Vista
- Intel Pentium processor or equivalent, 300 MHz or faster
- CD-ROM Drive
- Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) already installed
Mac System Requirements:
- Apple Mac OS 9.2 or higher
- Processor with speed of 120 MHz or higher
- Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) already installed
Firewall Router
For users that wish to connect Santel Wireless to a computer network, it will be necessary to have a Firewall Router. These may be purchased for just $80.00 for the unit and installation from Santel Wireless. This device also provides firewall protection.Firewall Software
With Santel Wireless' always-on connectivity, you may wish to obtain firewall software to protect your computer while on the Internet. Please contact our office or your local computer vendor to learn more about the different types of firewall software available for your computer.Note: Nothing less than the minimum system configuration will be considered. To upgrade your PC or Mac to the minimum specifications, please consult with us or your computer vendor.
